Getting Started

The shortest path from an empty workspace to one exported product: import a spreadsheet, match a row, attach a document, generate, review, release, and export.

Last updated

Take one product all the way through before running anything at volume. The whole workflow becomes obvious once you have seen the handoffs between stages.

Access

GearDock is in private beta. Workspaces are provisioned by the GearDock team rather than through self-service signup. Request access to start the conversation.

Step by Step

  1. Add a Product

Create a single product record manually, or import a small spreadsheet of a handful of rows. Starting small makes the exception behavior easy to observe.

  2. Upload a Source Document

Attach a specification sheet or brochure for that product. Content quality tracks document coverage more closely than any other input.

  3. Confirm the Match

Check that the product resolved to what you expected. If it is ambiguous, confirm it explicitly before continuing.

  4. Review the Gap Report

See which attributes are supported, which are weak, and which are missing entirely. This is your work queue.

  5. Generate a Draft

Produce draft content from the structured facts and their evidence. Read what it produced and, importantly, what it declined to state.

  6. Review and Approve

Read the draft against the evidence shown beside it, then record a decision with a rationale.

  7. Release, Then Export

Mark the approved content as released, then export it. Notice that these are two separate actions.

What to Look at First

On a first run, the gap report is the most informative screen. It is usually the first accurate statement anyone has had about how complete the catalog actually is, and it tends to reset expectations about where the real work sits.
