Your Manuals and Spec Sheets Become Evidence, Not Files to Retype From
Source documents are stored in your organization's library, their contents extracted and made searchable, and linked to the products they cover so passages can be cited.
The Question This Answers
How do the PDFs in my shared drive become usable product content?
Most sellers hold far more evidence than they use. The documents exist; what is missing is any connection between them and the product records they describe.
The Document Lifecycle
Upload
The document enters your organization's evidence library. It is not shared with, or visible to, any other organization.
Extract
Contents are extracted so the document becomes searchable and citable rather than an opaque file.
Link
The document is associated with the products it covers. One document often supports many products at once. A family brochure can cover a dozen model variants.
Cite
Specific passages become the evidence behind specific statements, and that link persists through generation, editing, and review.
Passage-Level Citation
A citation that points at a 200-page manual is not practically verifiable, and what is not practical does not get done. Recording where in the document the support was found is what turns traceability from a claim into something a reviewer will actually use.
Revisions
Manufacturers revise specifications, and a figure taken from a superseded revision is a common source of a published error nobody can later explain. Recording the document date and revision at upload costs seconds and is often the only way to reconstruct what happened.

Boundaries
What This Does Not Do
Stated plainly, because knowing the edges of a capability is more useful than another list of benefits.
- It does not go and find documents on the internet for you. The library holds the documents you upload.
- It does not judge whether a manufacturer document is accurate, only what it says.
- It does not resolve disagreements between two documents automatically; conflicts are surfaced for a decision.
- It does not accept documents containing protected health information.

What Comes Before and After
Each capability hands something specific to the next. Following the chain is usually more useful than reading them in isolation.
Questions
Common Questions
How much document coverage do I need to start?
None to start, and partial coverage is the normal case. Products with documents complete quickly and publish first, while the gap report tells you which documents would unlock the most products next.
Which documents are most useful?
Family or range brochures have the highest leverage because one document covers many models with comparable specification tables. Specification sheets are next. Reseller summaries are the least useful, because they often carry transcription errors.
Are my documents used to train anything?
Your documents belong to your organization and are used as evidence for your products. They are not shared with or visible to other organizations.

See This Working on Your Catalog
Capability pages describe the mechanism. A working session on your own products shows you how it behaves with your data, which is a more useful basis for a decision.
