Short answers to recurring questions. Where a fuller explanation exists, the relevant documentation page is linked from the navigation.
Does GearDock publish content automatically?
No. Content must be approved by a person and then separately released before it can be exported. Publishing to Shopify creates draft products, which you make live yourself.
What happens when no source supports a product attribute?
The attribute is reported as a gap and left empty. GearDock does not produce a plausible value for something no evidence supports, because a confident unverifiable figure is more damaging than a visible blank.
Can GearDock work with a partial document library?
Yes, and most catalogs start that way. Products with attached documents complete quickly and can be published first, while the visible gap report drives which documents to collect next.
Is GearDock HIPAA compliant or SOC 2 certified?
No. GearDock holds no such certification and does not claim one. It is a product catalog system and is not intended for protected health information. Patient data must not be uploaded.
Who can see my organization's data?
Only members of your organization. Products, documents, drafts, decisions, and audit records are scoped to a single organization and are not shared with or visible to any other.
What happens if a source document turns out to be wrong?
Evidence lineage identifies every product that cited it, so the correction is applied across that known set as a governed change with its own review and audit record, rather than one complaint at a time.
Which storefronts can GearDock publish to?
GearDock has executable profiles across multiple commerce systems, but proof levels differ and public production activation is off. Shopify is development-store proven and remains draft-only; WordPress, WooCommerce, and Magento have real local-provider proof; other profiles are protocol- or contract-tested and require customer configuration and qualification.
How is pricing structured?
GearDock is in private beta and pricing is scoped per organization against catalog size and onboarding needs rather than published as fixed tiers. There is no self-service checkout.
Can I edit generated content by hand?
Yes. Editing creates a new version, and the previous versions remain in the product's history along with any decisions recorded against them.
Does GearDock guarantee that published specifications are correct?
No, and no system honestly can. Manufacturer documents contain errors and extractions can misread dense tables. What GearDock provides is the ability to see what a statement was based on and to correct every affected product at once.
